Selamat Tinggal

Daddy wrote Suara Minda. This is one from four books he produced while he was in service.

I love this one puisi, I felt moved with his words. So this time around, I am sharing it with you.

Selamat Tinggal

Selamat Tinggal

    Ungkapan yang sering diucap

    Namun pada ujaran ini

    Tiada sebiasa makna

    Kerana sungguh

    Ia berlapis erti

    Ditafsir sampai kemudian

Selamat Tinggal

    Tutur ini tertentu niat

    Merakam penghargaan tulus

    Sarat siratan muafakat

    'tika melangkah seiring mantap sederap

    Gigih menongkah arus deras

    Mengasas keunggulan

    Meneroka fatwa afdal

    Peka pelihara kepentingan

    Serlahkan daya cipta

    Menarik mengekal membela

        penjawat pilihan

        dokongi wawasan

        Kendati bergelumang kekangan

        Bukan kepalang

        Berkesinambungan

        Tiada pangkalan

Selamat Tinggal

       Benarlah

        Seprihatin pemandang

        Jatuh sepadan pemikul bebanan

        Amanah tanggungjawab

        Menuntut kesabaran tanpa calar

        Walau apa natijah

        Kukuhi iltizam

Kerana perahu ini bakal hanyut karam

        Dilanda ombak situasi

        Tanpa kemudi nakhoda ahli

Selamat Tinggal

        Aku tidak kesal

         Gunung hasrat masih di lereng

        Memang hakikat khidmat

         Silih bergantian

         Padalah

         Asal yang selesai

         Jambakan baktian semerbak

        Siapa mewarisi

         Selesa menjejaki

        Menyemai bakti

        Mendaki puncak sejati

Selamat Tinggal

        Ku gubah kesyukuran syahdu

        Pada hujungan menghampiri

Maaflah kalau tiada ku toleh lagi

        Hakikatnya peralihan

        Adalah agenda kembaraan

        Berterusan

        Semampu degupan usia

        Nanti berhenti

        Jadi abadi

Selamat Tinggal

travelling bug

as I was reading my friend's page, it quickly reminded me of yesteryears.

The thrill of solo travelling.

I love to travel. I can be quite impulsive about it.

Some people might think its crazy. or equally dangerous, to let a girl travelling alone.
My dad trained me to be a solo traveller as soon as I landed on the boarding school when I was 12.
Ever since then, I never looked back.

Alone never really means  you're the odd one out. It simply means you're free to plan where you want to go, where you want to stay and how
you want to spend your money. You could basically live on just eating yogurt and fresh fruits with milk, if you simply wanna go for a budget travel.

It was the feeling of being someplace different. These strangers can be your immediate friends, and the weather will make the memories fonder to your heart.

I could still recall the peachy blue rays just a few minutes before dawn near the Eiffle Tower. I was in the middle of the street, waiting to walk across the  pedestrian crossing and the winter breeze brush across my face very lightly. Left my parents and my brothers waiting by the boat cruise.I stood there looking away at those skies.
As if I was trying to embrace this romantic- I am in blue kinda moment. Missing him million miles apart when we still had the funny feeling after he proposed to me before that.

and I recall tulip shopping in Amsterdam, sniffing the flowers while roaming past several H&M stores for a quick shopping, the pleasant sight are captured close and stayed in my mind fresh till today. Riding the bike in the city is truly a romantic thing to do. I am everywhere with my little notebook and a camera.

Basking hot near the shores of Dead Sea in Jordan. It was summer back then. I have been to the lowest point on the earth and for the first time tasting the saltiest drop of water ever! From then I begin a fascination over natural sea minerals products, the rock salts can do wonders to your body...

Actually, you can have an equal amount of fun with domestic travelling.

Today you woke up and you're in a fishing village somewhere. Or by the campfire counting the stars at night.

There's always fun to do a food hunt here. Our country basically has everything and Malaysians love to feed themselves on anything.

Will I be entitle for more solo travelling now?

Uh, I don't know.

Maybe travelling with hubby could be equally exciting too. ;-)

the four answers

4 movies I'd watch over and over:

Breakfast at Tiffany
You've Got Mail
Sleepless in Seattle

4 places I've lived, apart from where I live now:

there and overprice flats! contrary to the beautiful city, there is somewhere we live, which does not live to the                 city's impression.heheh.
Seri Kembangan - the four bedroom apartment - I call it the most practical place to live near the office .perfect for an                              escapade after a hard day at work!

4 TV shows I love:
Living ETC
Nigella Feasts
Party Planner with David Tutera

pucuk pimpinan baru

Maaf, aku kurang jelas. Aku hanya tahu terma 'bleaching' sahaja. Pemutihan di BL. Sukar diramalkan.

Imej JPA perlu dijaga.

English Speaking Day barangkali?

Aku hanya cuba membayangkan pelbagai kemungkinan.

Aku pasrah kini.

THE JOB

PPL stands for Pegawai Penasihat Latihan.

It is probably THE POST. The famous one. There are a lot of people eyeeing for the post.

You know why? Because uniquely, in JPA this is the job that requires you to be at a certain country and manage the JPA scholars worldwide. So, you have a fat chance of traveling within that particular country.

So yesterday, there's a group of wishful candidates went for the interview.

I'm wishing all my friends the best of luck. Who knows the lady luck could be one your side?

In the office, the talk about PPL has been the topic for ages. In fact, we're in need of the officers because of the rising numbers of Malaysian students abroad. Education is one of the largest investment in the country, and we need the right people to manage the funds, helping out the students and coordinates with the uni, banks, agents and other importannt things.

Well if you ask me honestly, what do I feel about the job?

Its probably the most challenging job ever.

During my short visit to different countries in my years of service, I have seen the good and bad side of it.

But if you're up for working solo, and brings out the best in you, go for it.

My boss did joke about sending me and some of our friends, the female colleagues and setting up the office before.

For us, it was like, haha...tak kahwin la aku...then there are reasons like I'm settling down....and among other things.

Looking at Ed who was in Tokyo now, he said he was enjoying it, but occasionally he calls and could not help to feel the terrible loneliness. Even with the family around.

I can't imagine myself to be mentally fit for the job. It was hard but really, really rewarding.

I think I am happy with the one week assignment. It doesn't matter if you're sending me during winter in Europe or summer in Middle East, Spring in Down Under....  that was lovely.

Let see who gets the job soon.

the travelling month

its almost end of january.

time flies fast isn't it?

this is the long awaited month. I shall carry on with my life as usual.

rumors has it. no, its not about promotion, but moving on to a new phase.

I'm excited about this month. First, I'm going to Langkawi during Chinese New Year holidays... owh.

there's going to be a good chance of spa, swimming, sunbathing, seafood...bestnye!!!

then there's this BTN course in Ulu Sepri, N.Sembilan, thanks to Medcham for the info.

Aku yg stay kat JPA pun tak tau pasal bende nie..sori for my absentmindedness. Heheh.

Takpe la...kursus 5 hari. Away from the office for a while. Jolly time without office wear, but with white baju kurong and black skirt. Furthermore, escape from kitchen and tunggu orang serve makan  je.

I have a different view when it comes to being away from the office am I?

Then, a short trip to Kuching. To visit the bursar office, again, to settle one of the pending problems.

I love jetting off to somewhere far like that.

And who knows, a short trip abroad..soon?Ini angan-angan nie. If I can't go for a honeymoon to this country, might as well go there for a business trip. So my friend, keep your fingers crossed....

I'm visualizing All Blacks stadium already ;-)

when the work is getting weirder these days

i've been doing the same job since 2005. honestly, it was not a breeze. handling finance and accounts is not that easy.

first, we have to go by the strict rules and regulations.

second, we had the enormous budget to control.

third, we had  massive volumes of vouchers to be paid everyday. it was an average 40 that costs almost millions per day.

fourth, we have demanding customers calling all over the world, the students from Egypt, the bursar office from UK, the students from local uni, the banks

owh, its endless.

fifth, I wasn't good in math or predicting calculations. i was better with words and not numbers. But ironically,I have been  doing job that involves numbers even since I graduated. So far, this job is the toughest.

There are times I was dreaming about making the perfect exit strategy.

But for most of the times, I found myself switching desks, handling different types of payment and restructuring the new method and proposing new changes for the unit.

there is one more thing that I wish I could get my hands on and if I could, I would say my stint in Finance management unit is complete.

I have yet to master the booking of flight ticket with hundreds of ticketing/ travel agent.

Now that, could be a wrap before I move on to the next phase, probably.

life in BL part two

what we do during our free time, or lunch hour is actually to express ourselves. We exchange stories.

for example, how we manage the calls from the public. How a client called and threatened to bring the matter to KSN or KPPA . Huh, threaten tu!! even though you tried to be as transparent, as efficient as you can be. even when the person is wrong, you cannot say they are because they will always blame the government.

like yesterday, this client called me, after she finishes her supposedly unlucky story about JPA loan, when I was about to explain to her how we handle things around here, she told me,

I mean Puan Mahera, ( sounding quite irritated and growingly annoyed) what is this about government?

Wake up la JPA. Wake up!! Takkan benda macam ni pun tak boleh settle? Saya bukannya tak bekerja nak settlekan masalah saya ni. Saya pun ada responsibilties saya jugak.

At first I thought I want to say, I am not sleeping maam.

But later I said,

Puan, saya faham masalah puan. I wish I have more powers than what I have now to solve this.

( dah ada kuasa sign duit berbillion pun belum tentu boleh selesai masalah puan ni.Kesian betul.)

I will do anything that I can to help. And beginning to explain more and more until her voice was steady.

Fuh!! Hari-hari gaduh ngan orang. Nasib baik balik rumah tak ada hati nak gaduh ngan suami. Kalau tidak mesti dah cukup otai nak belasah semua orang.

Apparently, sometimes things like this could either make your day or you know, made you feel have you done enough to the nation?
