Program Ijazah Luar Negara 2008.
In selecting students to receive our scholarships, our main priority is to ensure that only those with excellent academic results and possess rounded personality will be sponsored.
And time to be away from the office work for a while. hihi.

scholarships issue
When the public complains, it is our duty to assist them, and provide them a satisfactory answer if a solution is not within our powers.
My day to day job is about scholarships. It is about designing the best package the government could possibly offer, and continuous care and support for those who are being sponsored, responding to the public needs and analysing what went wrong or enhancing the value added service within the delivery system.
It seems natural when the society are given opportunities to channel their thoughts on the delivery system, we tend to receive more complaints than constructive criticisms. My new job description always requires me to look into the dissatisfaction among the public especially on the issues like why students scoring straight A1's SPM results failed to secure a scholarship abroad, current allowances received among students studying abroad is insufficient due to rising living costs worldwide, the constant challenge to survive overseas, management problems from educational institution and many other things.
This is my day to day responsibilty. I know most parents feel responsible in providing the best education for their children. And those who applied for scholarships come from various background. They could either be very rich or barely survive and yet to support the whole family. To those who were awarded the scholarships, even though they might face some kind of hardship or obstacles living somewhere foreign, but the point is, this is what the government and the rest of taxpayers could provide for the moment.
I knew that some things are limited. It is true that the goverment does not own scholarship to everyone. That's life. Some might get lucky now, some might, maybe a bit later. Only God knows.
I was speaking from my own perspective because I did not belong to those who were awarded a scholarship while studying in the university. I was proud to say that I am a local product, who basically made a success in an entirely new world during my days as college student ( I was offered a Literature degree in IIU but I was a Science Stream student in MRSM for 5 years before that) and thanks to PTPTN loan ( even though I am qualified to apply for scholarships but I choose to be indepedent and happily paying for it every month!) I believe that my five years in IIU has taught me a great deal of patience, and who said those without professional degree as not the most sought after ones. My fellow coursemates were hired straightaway after we finish our degree without having to wait for the graduation ceremony!
And although I do not have any bond unlike certain scholars normally attached to their sponsors after they finish their degree, ( some are lucky to be freed) but I choose to work for the government and continue supporting these privilege ones. And sometimes it upsets me some are less grateful, some hopefuls ones did not get the opportunity and people are analyzing the system into every details. yes, the government is subjected to heavy scrutiny nowadays.
As I said, this is my day to day responsibilty, I should stay positive and as PTD we feel obliged to take charge of the situation.
As government servant or hamba kerajaan , that's what we do.

marakech pavillion
One fine Sunday, I've decided to pay a visit to Taman Botani, Putrajaya. This was actually a quest to look for brilliant architecture inside the park.
There I was, while my little brother was left to polish his skills with his Alpha baby, and me armed with my new camera, strolling around the park. There was this special spot called Marakech Pavillion, that I always wanted to go, but never had the chance to, until last Sunday.
test power, eheh!
buah cempedak di luar pagar...

I love every piece of it!! In fact, this place was on my list for wedding photography last year, but finally opted for De' Seri Endon for garden wedding theme.

In the middle of the mini garden , there was this pool built with colourful tiles.I had this dream of becoming Balqis, the Queen of Saba' as I stepped into this beautiful building. It was sunny and windy and we had the place to ourselves..hihi.
By mid day, my brother and I thought we had enough of photos to bring home. I will plan for my next trip soon, suggestions?

cuppacakes cont.
I am going to write about Cuppacakes today.
I went to their little but trendy shop in Uptown Damansara last week. It was quite insignificant as compared to other shops within that area. I think these cupcakes are getting a better coverage of exposure in the cyber world.
Actually, I wanted to bring hubby along, but as the journey from Seremban to Damansara during the weekdays after lunch hour was quite an irresistable opportunity ( I could so do from Seremban to Petaling Jaya and shop shop and head back to Seri Kembangan in less than two hours! ) No traffic hassle! Ok la. Beli la one box and ajak hubby makan during supper time.. ;-)
the presentation of the box is pretty inviting. It has the same effect on me as I step into the shop. If only I could open up a small eatery like that one day, I would be happy doing the baking and changing the flavours of my cookies or cakes frequently!! part of the promotion...
I am sure after you saw these photos you might wanna check out the shop yourself.
My friend went crazy over the cupcakes!! But I warned you, this is not something that you could munch on and on continuously at one time. Its ultra sweet, takut pulak kalau ada yang dapat sugar rush nanti.
and I bought this whole six in 1 pack for the hefty RM20. quite pricey for a tiny indulgence ;-)

want a better visual? drop by at cuppacakes today!
